Due to winger Relebohile Mofokeng’s injury, South Africa’s prospects of solidifying their hold on Group C in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have been severely damaged.
Hugo Broos, the head coach, revealed the setback at his news conference on Monday, stating that Mofokeng’s absence necessitated a last-minute roster reshuffle.
“We substituted Shabalala for him,” Broos informed reporters. “Secondly, Luke Foster and Sphephelo Sithole are the two players who have not shown up because they played on Sunday.”
