The APC’s Jigawa State branch has issued a warning, stating that any member found to be disrespecting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi or undermining party unity will face consequences.

As a sign of their allegiance to the governor, State Deputy Chairman Alhaji Nasiru Dahiru Jahun revealed this while leading a state delegation that included the State Executive Committee and party chairmen from each of the 27 local government districts.

As the acknowledged head of the APC in Jigawa State, Governor Namadi was the reason they were at the Government House, according to Alhaji Jahun, who spoke during the visit.

The state’s party leadership, he said, is still fully in favor of Governor Namadi and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, supporting both for a second term in 2027.

Along with praising the Governor Namadi administration, the party leaders said that the “wonderful transformation and unprecedented achievements within just two years” were historic in Jigawa’s development journey.

Additionally, Jahun warned that the party will not think twice about punishing any member whose behavior betrays disdain for the state leadership or threatens unity.

He said that his devotion to the governor was similar to that of the humorous figure “Maha” to his instructor. “We will do anything Malam says, and we will follow him wherever he leads us,” he stated.

Governor Namadi responded by expressing gratitude to the APC leadership for their support and promising sustained collaboration between his government and the party.

He reaffirmed that he will treat all party members equally throughout the state.

The governor added that people-oriented policies and the execution of development projects are the main priorities of the APC’s federal and state governments.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Jigawa State has recently seen a resurgence of simmering tension as factions loyal to incumbent Governor Umar Namadi and former Governor and Minister of Defense Muhammad Badaru Abubakar have publicly clashed, with their supporters exchanging harsh words in recent days.

Threatening the unity of the state’s ruling party, the dispute has been steadily growing since the change of power in 2023 and is now escalating into a public altercation.

According to observers, the conflict may make the APC less dominant in Jigawa before the 2027 elections if it is not handled wisely.

However, there has been no formal statement on the matter from either former Governor Badaru or Governor Namadi.
