In the 2027 presidential election, Peter Obi is free to fly the party’s banner with or without him as a running mate, according to Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate in the general elections of 2023.
On Wednesday, Baba-Ahmed made this claim while making an appearance as a guest on Channels Television’s “The Morning Brief.”
“I hold two important people in the highest regard; Peter Obi is one of them. I am quite open to him.

He is welcome to continue using the Labour Party ticket and run for office in 2027, with or without me, according to the party. “The ADC is free to choose a candidate from the South,” Baba-Ahmed added.
Nigeria, he said, needs a leader who would bring about governance rather than catastrophe.
Further, Baba-Ahmed said that Obi’s alliance with the coalition on the African Democratic Congress platform was a developing circumstance rather than an anti-party action.
The activity is not anti-party. It is a situation in progress. When individuals, interest groups, and political parties band together, it’s called a coalition. This is a developing scenario.
“I went to coalition meetings. It’s okay for Peter Obi to keep going to those coalition meetings,” Baba-Ahmed continued.
Prior to the 2027 presidential election, Baba-Ahmed discussed his thoughts on the zoning problem and stated that he believed the South should produce the president.
