South-West political players have firmly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s candidacy for reelection in the general elections of 2027, vowing to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to support his accomplishments and uphold Nigeria’s progressive governance.
The Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, a coalition of loyalists dedicated to mobilizing grassroots support for both President Tinubu and former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, organized a PVC sensitization drive yesterday in Lagos, where the stakeholders issued this statement.
The goal of the sensitization campaign, according to Dr. Seyi Bamigbade, Director-General of the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, was to raise political awareness among the populace and guarantee that eligible voters in the South-West receive their PVCs in time for the 2027 elections.
The group’s goal, according to Bamigbade, is to “reaffirm loyalty to the ideals of President Tinubu, who is described as the architect of modern Lagos and the builder of Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda, while strengthening democratic participation.”
Bamigbade said, “We are standing firmly behind the President to complete the transformational journey he has started. Our PVCs are for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.”
“At the same time, we are supporting Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode’s return to the position of governor of Lagos State, as his accomplishments and vision continue to be unparalleled in providing people-oriented governance.”
He emphasized that Ambode’s return to the political scene in Lagos would further solidify the development plan established by Tinubu and upheld by succeeding administrations. He also said that the experience and dedication of both leaders would guarantee prosperity for Lagos and the South-West region as a whole.
The call for fresh civic engagement was echoed by participants in the sensitization exercise, which included youth organizations, market leaders, and community influencers. They also promised to mobilize residents to collect their PVCs as a civic duty.
Plans to duplicate the campaign in all South-West states were also announced by the Tinubu-Ambo Support Group, with a focus on rural areas where voter indifference and registration issues are still common.
