Beginning on Monday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will reveal 36 recently finished highways, five bridges, and a pedestrian bridge throughout the state.
Olufemi Daramola, Special Adviser on Infrastructure, announced this at a press conference held Friday at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
Gbenga Omotoso, the state’s commissioner for information and strategy, accompanied Daramola, who called the reveal a significant turning point in the Sanwo-Olu administration’s dedication to infrastructure development.
In order to improve the welfare and productivity of Lagosians, he emphasized that the initiatives were in line with the administration’s THEMES+ program, which places a high priority on transportation and traffic management.
In reference to the governor’s most recent budget presentation, Daramola stated, “Our development program is anchored by ongoing investments in infrastructure. Good infrastructure that keeps up with population development will be the foundation of the Greater Lagos we envision.

The projects covered a number of local government districts, including Kosofe, Agege, Alimosho, Badagry, Eti-Osa, and Ikeja.
The construction of the Abiola-Onijemo Link Road with a bridge in Ifako-Ijaiye, the restoration of Irede Road in Amuwo Odofin, the restoration of Oyinkan Abayomi Drive in Ikoyi, Eti-Osa, and the restoration of Dopemu Road in Agege are a few of the major features.
In spite of inflationary pressures and worldwide economic difficulties, Daramola pointed out that the projects were prioritized to guarantee their timely completion.
“The accomplishment of these projects during economic downturns shows the administration’s dedication to its commitments and the prosperity of Lagosians,” he stated.
He stated that the Alapere Pedestrian Bridge in Kosofe and the Abiola-Onijemo Link Road in Ifako-Ijaiye will be put into service on Monday, December 9, 2024.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu will open the Ikoyi road network, which includes Macpherson Avenue, Femi Okunnu Road, and Oyinkan Abayomi Drive, on Tuesday, December 10,” he continued.
