In a statement released on Sunday, Kalu characterized the former head of state as a political father and mentor who influenced his political career.
Babangida’s leadership style, bravery, and vision for a unified Nigeria were praised by him, and he emphasized that his contributions to national integration, peace, and stability will never be forgotten.
A unique leader, General Babangida has inspired me and many others in the political arena with his wealth of knowledge and fatherly leadership. “He is a statesman of incalculable value because of his unwavering belief in the unity of our great country, Nigeria, and his ability to nurture younger leaders,” Kalu stated.
