Following the passing of well-known veteran actor Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, the Nollywood industry is in a state of mourning.
According to reports, Nollywood star Kunle Afod posted on his Instagram profile to notify the tragic death of Baba Gebu.
Kunle Afod said she was saddened by the movie star’s passing.
Afod called Baba Gebu a magnificent legend in the heartfelt message, emphasizing that he died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after fighting an unidentified disease.
Kunle Afod prayed that the legend’s kind spirit would rest in peace while displaying some images of the deceased.
“It breaks my heart to announce the death of our great legend, a great actor who died this evening after a brief illness,” he wrote. GEBU BABA I hope your soul finds peace.
Baba Gebu contributed to several significant productions over his lengthy and illustrious career in the Nigerian film business, especially in Yoruba-language cinema.
He discussed his wife’s passing in public in 2024 and said that going back to active acting helped him deal with and prevent depression.
