Plans to build a state-owned cement mill in Ebonyi have been revealed by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

According to the governor, the proposal is a part of the state’s industrialization ambitions.

This was revealed by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Monday when the 2026 budget proposal was formally presented to the public for feedback.

The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his audacious economic reforms.

He claimed that because to the President’s audacious initiatives, some economic sectors experienced meteoric development.

“What was unattainable is now feasible. Our budget would not have increased from N89 billion to more than N800 billion without the provision of subsidies. That is the proof and advantage of eliminating fuel subsidies, the governor stated.

The 2026 budget was dubbed a “Budget of Hope and Actualization,” according to Governor Nwifuru.

He clarified that the budget for 2026 was created to guarantee the completion of ongoing projects and the growth of human capital.

In order to continue carrying out their responsibilities, he urged Nigerians, particularly the opposition parties, to cooperate with his People’s Charter of Needs Agenda and Presidential Renewed Hope Agenda.

He insisted that all projects are time-bound and promised that contractors will use the dry season to finish all ongoing projects, all the while refuting concerns and rumors of a lackluster project execution.

The President of Nigeria will visit Ebonyi to commission at least ten projects, according to the Governor, who plans to start project commissioning by May of next year.

The governor was praised for include worthy sectors in the 2026 budgets by leaders of the traditional rulers council, women’s societies, elders council, and student bodies in their respective addresses earlier.
