Peter Okoye Responds as EFCC Says No Evidence of $800,000 Fraud Against Jude, Paul

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, better known by his stage name Mr. P., has responded to reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) lacks proof to back up his claim that his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye, of the now-defunct music group P-Square, stole $800,000 from their business account while they were employed together.

Recall that the accusation originated from a 2024 petition filed by Peter Okoye, who claimed that Jude and Paul had manipulated Northside Entertainment Ltd.’s ownership structure, diverted monies, and surreptitiously operated 47 concealed bank accounts.

Following the petition, the commission filed financial misconduct allegations against Jude, relating them to the management of the P-Square brand.

Under cross-examination, EFCC counsel, M.K. Bashir, informed Justice Rahman Oshodi that the commission could not offer documentation for the purported $800,000 withdrawal.

Pressed by the court to substantiate the claim, Bashir replied: “We do not have it. It’s his proof. Let him prove it. I am unable to provide what I lack.

He further denied owning proof of the supposed 47 bank accounts, stating, “It is one of the witness’s claims, but I do not have such a copy.”

Reacting via his social media handle, Peter described the report as jokes and propaganda.

He claims that the EFCC investigator never raised this claim in court.

He wrote, “Joke and propaganda. Again, promoting false narratives to the media about a court session that never happened, all to make me seem bad? Social media no be judge.”
