Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation, has criticized Bello Matawalle, the minister of state for defense, for what he called a cruel media campaign.
On Thursday, Fani-Kayode wrote via his verified X Twitter that the attacks on Matawalle, which were purportedly planned by the opposition, were disgusting and despicable.
He said that since taking office, the minister had shown remarkable devotion to President Bola Tinubu and dedication to the battle against terrorism.
He claimed that the collaboration between Matawalle and Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Advisor, had produced notable results in the fight against terrorism.
“More terrorists have been killed in the last two years by him and NSA Nuhu Ribadu than in the previous eight combined,” he claimed.
“My only grouse is that, for some reason, they do not make this public and let the world know about it, which I think they should,” the former minister of aviation said, criticizing what he called the government’s unwillingness to highlight security achievements.
He advised Matawalle to stay focused and disregard attempts to defame him, claiming that the minister had gained respect for his bravery and toughness in facing state foes.
Despite all attempts to discredit and undermine him, he wrote, “I urge my friend and brother, Matawalle, to stay focused, to continue the good work, and to ignore the “bad belle” distractions.”
