Kingsley Moghalu, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), stated on Thursday that he was “chilled” by comments made in the past by some ambassadorial aspirants disparaging President Bola Tinubu.
Moghalu questioned why these aspirants for ambassadors, who had disparaged Tinubu, would later turn around and take crumbs.
“I am chilled to the bones when I see what some of today’s @officialABAT ambassadorial nominees have written and said about him in the past,” Moghalu tweeted on X. I don’t support President Tinubu or oppose him.
It’s acceptable to disagree with someone on political and even ethical issues and then subsequently change your mind.
However, it is astounding how harsh, personally abusive, and derogatory language these people have used to characterize a human being, only to subsequently turn around and take crumbs from the victim of the abuse.
“For heaven’s sake, stay in your lane if you have such strong feelings about a person as well as about causes.
“I believe it tells far more about the speaker or writer than about the person talked of or written about, without elevating anyone to sainthood, to go to such extremities just because of transient political opposition (or “crumbflakes” dropping right now) and then eat your own vomit! If someone claims that Nigeria is a “zoo,” we will call them out for using derogatory terminology. I have two pennies.
