Ahead of the commencement of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration exercise, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has met with its service providers and other critical stakeholders to ensure a seamless registration and examination exercise.
The virtual meeting, which was hosted from the Board’s National Headquarters, Bwari, recently, was aimed at briefing service providers and critical stakeholders on the onerous task ahead of them in their bid to deliver a strong and credible examination.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, who was represented by the Director, Registrar’s Office, Mr. Mufutau Bello, thanked the participants for heeding the Board’s call as well as the seamless services they had rendered in the previous year.
The Registrar, who underscored the importance of the registration exercise to the successful conduct of the UTME, enjoined them to be active in the various roles and responsibilities assigned to them.
He solicited maximum cooperation and improved service delivery noting that the annual registration exercise was aimed at conducting a credible and seamless UTME.
Earlier in her address of welcome, the Director, Information Technology Services (ITS), Mrs. Funmilola B-Usman, said the meeting was to facilitate intense deliberations on the preparations being made for the 2026 UTME/DE exercise as well as receive feedback from them.
She also appealed to Telecos to ensure that all centre network achieved seamless connectivity.
She equally appealed to the critical stakeholders to do whatever needed to be done to ensure CCTV coverage of the entire examination centre, stressing that the Board would not hesitate to invoke “No Viewing, No Payment” clause.
As for Service Providers, she urged them to intimate the Board of any threats to their systems that could hinder them from delivering on their mandate.
Similarly, the IT Consultant, Mr. Damilola Bamiro, urged the participants to be vigilant, stressing that all issues pertaining to capacity, optimisation, speed of bandwidth, quality of network, should be resolved soonest as the Board would remotely view all activities at each registration centres.
Bamiro disclosed that for the first time the Board would be running the entire registration platform from a local server as against the foreign server hitherto being deployed by JAMB.
He pointed out that the new registration regime to be hosted on local server is going to be the largest registration exercise ever conducted on the continent of Africa and urged all hands to be on deck with a view to achieving maximum results.
He also enjoined participants to watch out for any security breaches, lapses as well as movement or extension of their routers to unauthorised places, while being watchful of suspicious applications that could be installed on their systems.In their response, the Service Providers promised to offer high quality service that would guarantee a seamless 2026 UTME.
