As the university begins a new academic year, Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo, the Pro-Chancellor of Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State, has charged professors and staff to maintain the highest levels of quality service delivery.

Speaking to staff members at the Resumption Assembly, which was recently held in the University Chapel, she made the charge.

During his speech on the topic of “Setting the Pace for a Year of Excellence,” Oyedepo emphasized the importance of starting the school year strong and continuing to be excellent in all areas of accountable responsibility.

She emphasized the need of spirituality in attaining lasting perfection, using Romans 8:6 to emphasize that true excellence is based on spiritual awareness rather than dependence on the body, which may result in corruption and compromise.

She claims that it was intentional and strategic for spirituality to be positioned as the arrowhead of Covenant University’s Seven Core Values. She emphasized that daily interaction with God’s Word allows greatness to permeate every endeavor and urged academics and staff to be firm in their spiritual commitments.

Oyedepo also considered the Chancellor’s early spiritual journey, pointing out that his early devotion to Christ set the stage for his long-lasting influence as a mentor.

She went on to say that mentoring students becomes more successful and divinely supported when staff members and faculty share same ideals.

She urged staff members to make themselves available for God’s use in molding future leaders, describing them as destiny molders entrusted with raising a revolutionary generation capable of changing society.
