In an effort to increase operational efficiency, accountability, and coordination within the aviation industry, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government has authorized a significant redistribution of senior officials among important aviation organizations.

The Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development approved the reorganization, which reportedly impacts directorates at the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), and Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

An official circular dated February 9, 2026, signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Yakubu Adam Kofarmata and approved by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, detailed the exercise’s details. Changes are effective immediately.

Strategic departments such as public affairs, consumer protection, finance, human resources, corporate services, and administration are all affected by the redeployment.

The action is part of larger reforms, according to authorities, that are meant to increase inter-agency cooperation and fortify the organizations in charge of aviation safety and service provision.

The position of Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Funke Adebayo Arowojobe, has been relocated from NiMet to NSIB.

To lead Corporate Services at NiMet, Dr. Nasiru Sani was reassigned.

In another instance of cross-posting, Baro Henry Minabawarre departs NSIB to join NiMet as Director of Human Resource and Administration, while Airohiuodion Henry Omonzogie transfers from NiMet to NSIB as Director of Corporate Services.

Changes also occurred in the leadership of public communication, as Bimbo Olawunmi Oladeji transferred from NSIB to NiMet.

Portfolios for financial management underwent a similar adjustment. As Director of Finance and Accounts, Muonemeh Ndubusi Lotenna joins NSIB from NAMA, and Dr. Mrs. Okundaye Oke Itohan Folake joins NAMA from NSIB in a similar role.

Horatius Egua, the Director of Special Duties at the NCAA, was relieved of his duties and Mrs. Augustina Erah, PhD, took over.

The ministry instructed all impacted personnel to finish their handovers as soon as possible in order to avoid any interruptions to operations.

In order to improve service delivery throughout Nigeria’s aviation sector, tighten safety monitoring, and increase institutional capacity, officials characterized the initiative as a standard administrative reform.
