In a significant security reorganization announced on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, President Bola Tinubu dismissed Inspector General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun and appointed Assistant Inspector General Olatunji Rilwan Disu to succeed him.
It is anticipated that Disu, who most recently oversaw the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex at Alagbon, Lagos, will take office right away and supervise a change in leadership across the country.
