The murder attempt on Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for 2023, was allegedly sponsored by the Edo State government or its operatives, according to veteran Nollywood actor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo.
In Edo State, Peter Obi and other ADC chieftains were ambushed by gunmen on Tuesday, as was previously mentioned.
Speaking on Arise Television’s “Prime Time,” Okonkwo remembered a prior warning to Peter Obi from current Edo State Governor Monday Okpehbolo not to enter the state without his permission.
Peter Obi was attacked in Edo State, and he claimed that the government or its operatives attempted to kill him.
Former Edo State Governor John Odigie Oyegun, with whom I had contact, provided me with information about the purported assassination attempt.
Government agencies or their agents are held accountable for this incident. The current governor of Edo State once threatened to prevent Peter Obi from entering the state without his permission, claiming that his safety could not be assured.
On-air, this previous threat was described as a threat to opposition leaders. People came to welcome Olumide Akpata, the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), an organization that appears to be under siege.
“The ten-vehicle convoy, headed by a pilot vehicle, was encountered by the welcoming party.”
