in least sixty ISWAP terrorists were killed when troops from Operation HADIN KAI successfully thwarted their coordinated infiltration attempt in Mallam Fatori in Borno’s Abadam Local Government Area.
Terrorists attacked the 68 Battalion, Mobile Defence Area on Tuesday night, according to an operational report provided by the military to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
It stated that the terrorists were on foot and had armed drones, and that the attack started from Duguri General Area and targeted Bravo Company’s frontage.
The report claims that the terrorists were forced to flee in confusion into Arege General Area after the Joint Task Force (JTF) swiftly countered the drones with the help of aviation assets.
“Preliminary evaluations show that more than sixty terrorists were eliminated during the operation, and four soldiers suffered minor wounds.”
Six suspected terrorist organizations have been spotted approaching Arege, according to the military, which confirmed that follow-up intelligence and surveillance operations are still underway.
It further stated that the area will be exploited in order to consolidate wins and stop future attempts.
The aftermath of the airstrike is depicted in a JTF film clip, highlighting the troops’ operational preparedness and accuracy in the Northeast.
The JTF reaffirmed its dedication to defending people and keeping terrorist networks under strain throughout Borno and the neighboring states.(NAN)
