Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic preacher, has maintained that the only practical way to address Nigeria’s insecurity issue is through negotiations with terrorists and robbers.
According to reports, Gumi bemoaned in a Facebook post on Thursday that the nation has ignored underprivileged groups for decades, resulting in severe socioeconomic disparities and making many young people susceptible to manipulation by outside powers looking to destabilize the nation.
He claims that the growing wealth disparity has rendered many young people ready-made foot soldiers in violent cycles that allow Nigeria’s resources to be exploited.
Gumi bemoaned the fact that the intellectual elite is being held captive in the fight for survival while the political class is mainly indifferent to the circumstances.
The Islamic scholar insisted that the only way out of the insecurity dilemma is to adopt his 2021 strategy of “taking the bull by the horns” by trying to reintegrate violent individuals into society.
“Nigeria has ignored the underprivileged section of its society for decades,” he said. The society is stratified and there is a large socioeconomic gap. This turns our young people into ready-made foot soldiers for any foreign force attempting to subjugate and divide us. to pillage our resources while engaging in a violent cycle.Sadly, the intelligentsia is held captive in the fight for survival while the political elite pays no attention.
“I took the bull by the horns in 2021 in an effort to reintegrate some of these impolite aspects into our community instead of allowing the devil to take advantage of them.
“I continue to think that this is the only way out of our situation. To succeed, though, political will and perseverance are required.
