Chinedu Ikedieze Reveals Childhood Struggles with Bullying Over Growth

Chinedu Ikedieze, a Nollywood actor known as Aki, has talked about painful memories from his childhood that were caused by his small size due to slow growth.

He told media personality Chude Jideonwo that kids in his neighborhood made fun of him a lot when he was growing up. He said that the insults followed him everywhere, and that even his siblings sometimes used the same hurtful names when they fought, which made it even worse for him.

People said that he said the constant teasing really hurt him and made him feel very sad. At one point, he even thought about killing himself because he felt so bad about how people treated him and how society saw him.

Chinedu also talked about how his mother helped him through those tough times. He said that she supported him, comforted him, and told him to ignore the insults. She told him to focus on his education and make a future for himself because he couldn’t do physical work like a lot of other boys his age.

He said, “Kids in my neighborhood made fun of me all the time.” During fights, my brothers and sisters would sometimes call me the same hurtful names. People’s treatment of me made me feel very bad. At one point, I thought the weight was too heavy to carry.

“I thought people were being unfair to me. When things got really hard, my mother was there for me. She told me to ignore the mean things people said and pay attention to my schoolwork. I wasn’t able to do the same kinds of physical work that other boys were doing. Her advice gave me hope for the future and a way to move forward. Those words helped me find the way to success.”
