Activist and social commentator, Justice Chidiebere, popularly known as JusticeCrack, has accused officials of the Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, of abducting him while posing as operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
Justice Crack made the allegations in a post on X on Tuesday, saying he was subjected to inhumane treatment while in custody.
He said he was blindfolded and handcuffed for three days, held in the burning sun during the day and locked in a freezing cold room at night.
He also claimed that the intervention of Nigerians who asked questions about his whereabouts prevented him from going missing without a trace.
He said he was limited in what he could say publicly because the matter is still before the court.
“JusticeCrack has never been cracked and it will never be cracked. I was abducted by the DIA, they came to arrest me, in disguise as DSS officers.
“Only when Nigerians started talking and demanding answers, they finally took me to the DSS. They wanted to make me disappear and if it wasn’t for the intervention of Nigerians, I might have been gone forever.
“After three days of inhuman treatment I would like to say I was blindfolded and handcuffed for three days. In the day they had me in the hot sun, at night they locked me in a cold room.
“Because this matter is still in court, I am limited to what I can say at this time. But it was the DIA that caught me and brought me to the CIC. I was told I didn’t know about this until I was moved to the DSS.
“Justice can never be cracked,” he penned.
Chidiebere’s ordeal was said to have begun in late April 2026 and was reported missing by his family after dropping his child off at school in Abuja.
After public outrage and accusations of enforced disappearance, the Nigerian Army confirmed he was in military custody on 2 May.
He was arrested “in connection with some videos and posts that have gone viral of frontline soldiers complaining about poor feeding and welfare conditions”, the military said, with the authorities describing the acts as bordering on subversion and incitement of military personnel.
He was subsequently handed over to civil authorities and arraigned by the DSS before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a three-count charge bordering on cybercrime and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
Justice Crack was remanded in the custody of the DSS, but Justice Joyce Abdulmalik granted him N5 million bail on May 18, 2026.
