Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as ‘Davido’ has challenged the All Progressives Congress, APC to demonstrate its popularity through ballot papers and not through guns or weapons.
Davido threw this challenge in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday condemning the attack on Accord Party Chairman,
“Everybody should condemn and reject the attack,” he said, adding that political violence undermines democracy and scares voters away from polls.
He called on all Nigerians to desist from contributing to insecurity regardless of political differences.
“If the APC think they are popular, let’s settle it at the poll, not by guns or weapon,” he wrote.
Davido’s statement follows increasing calls for peaceful political engagement as the 2027 election approaches.
Recall that the chairman of the Accord Party in Osogbo Local Government of the state, Asimiyu Ajibola (Baba Isila) was shot by suspected political thugs Wednesday night.
