Nafisat, wife of Nigerian actor Akin Olaiya has revealed why she left their home.
Olaiya married Nafisat in July 2025, years after his first marriage disintegrated.
Less than five months after the wedding rumours of the couple’s split began to spread on social media.
On June 22 2026, the actor confirmed the separation in a dissolution statement he released, claiming that Nafisat left their matrimonial home without any crisis and all efforts to bring her back were abortive.
Nafisat, who had earlier accused Olaiya of abusing her, however, reacted to the controversial statement in a video on social media, saying she left the marriage due to the love affair of the actor with her best friend.
“Can you imagine that after the mistreating, pain and all, the said husband ends up marrying your own best friend.
So what does this mean? I’m not the type of person that will just come and tell my side of the story. “I’m not used to it because in my own culture they don’t train us that way,” she said.
