Troops raid Katsina terrorists’ camp, arrest one, kill five

At least five terrorists were killed and one arrested in a joint operation comprising police, vigilantes and hunters in Katsina State on Saturday.

The spokesman of the Katsina Police Command, ASP Sadiq Abubakar, said the terrorists were killed based on an intelligence report when the combined team raided several terrorists’ camps in Batsari and Jibia LGAs of the state.

Among the suspected terrorists camps dislodged in the joint operation were in Marake, Garin Yara, and Garin Labo villages, all in Batsari LGA.

Also dislodged and raided is the camp of one notorious bandit leader, Audu Lankai, terrorising Jibia LGA and its environs.

According to Sadiq, 38 cows, 40 sheep, and 65 goats were also recovered in the course of the operation.

Sadiq also noted that its operatives are still scanning the scene for possible arrests of other members of the camp and also to recover more exhibits, even as investigation is ongoing.
