The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cautioned candidates against accepting admissions from tertiary institutions outside its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
The board also reminded institutions to promptly disclose admissions offered outside CAPS between 2017 and 2023, warning of severe consequences for non-compliance.
In a statement released on Thursday, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin noted that numerous candidates have been visiting JAMB offices to resolve issues related to admissions disclosed outside CAPS.

However, Benjamin emphasized that the focus should be on institutions’ compliance rather than candidates’ actions.
Institutions have been directed to disclose all candidates admitted outside CAPS before the August 31st, 2024 deadline, and that failure to do so will result in severe consequences.
JAMB reiterated that candidates not disclosed by institutions will not be recognized, and the board will not condone any undisclosed admissions moving forward.
