Walter Onnoghen, the former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) appeared in court on Tuesday at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, challenging his suspension as CJN by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in 2019.
Onnoghen is seeking to void and set aside the CCT judgment delivered against him on April 18, 2019, on various grounds.
In his appeal, Onnoghen argued that the allegations brought against him constituted no offense and should not have formed the basis for his conviction and removal from office.
He also challenged the jurisdiction of the CCT and its refusal to be bound by the orders made by the Federal High Court and the National Industrial Court directing the tribunal to halt the trial.
