The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) leader Ganiyu Oyedepo, also known as Koko Zaria, has been placed under detention by a Lagos Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly assaulting Nollywood star Alhaji Ade Adele, also known as Baba Lawori.

Kokozaria was charged with assaulting Lawori and planning a crime with his boys. The charges have been classified as a danger to the thespian’s life.

Adele was allegedly attacked by Koko Zaria and his colleagues on June 5, 2024, in Idimu, Lagos, and sustained injuries with a bottle following a fracas.

The Nollywood actor was wounded with broken pieces and had his head smashed by one of Kokozaria’s boys, according to court documents that are circulating online.

Kokozaria was charged in court on four charges of assault resulting in hurt, conspiracy to conduct a felony, obtaining boys to cause harm to another person, and willful disturbance of peace, according to the article.

In a charge with the number B/40/2024, the prosecutor, Morufu Animashaun, a legal officer in the FCIID, Alagbon, informed the court that the defendant had conspired with a few of his “boys” to attack Adele on June 5, 2024, in Idimu.

He added that during the attack, Adele was hit in the head by a bottle that was used by Oyedepo’s boys.

The prosecutor informed the judge that the defendant was guilty of offenses that were punishable by section 168 (2) of the same laws as well as sections 411, 173, and 168 (l)(d) of the Criminal Law Ch. C17, Vol. 3, Laws of Lagos State.

The charges are “That you Ganiyu Oyedepo on or about the June 25, 2024 at Idimu, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, Lagos conspired to commit Felony wit: Assault Occasioning Harm and committed an Offence contrary to Section 411 of the Criminal Law Ch. C17, Vol. 3, Laws of Lagos State

“That you Oyedepo on the said date unlawfully procured one of your boys (now at large) who unlawfully broke a bottle and inflicted injuries on the head of one Alhaji Ade Adele and committed an Offence contrary to Section 173 of the Criminal Law Ch. C17, Vol. 3, Laws of Lagos State 2015.

“That you Oyedepo conducted yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace when you threatened and procured one of your boys (now at large) to break a bottle on the head of Adele and committed an Offence contrary to Section 168 (l)(d) of the Criminal Law Ch. C17, Vol. 3, Laws of Lagos State 2015 and punishable under Section 168 (2) of thé same Criminal Law Ch. C17, Vol. 3, Laws of Lagos state 2015.”
