North-West residents have praised Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defense, after recent Nigerian Air Force (NAF) bombings killed a number of bandits, including followers of infamous criminal leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule.
The North West Concerned Citizens Coordinator, Abdulrashid Ibrahim Danja Katsina, said the coordinated actions are a major step forward in the battle against banditry in Zamfara and the wider North-West.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s comprehensive security policy, which includes ordering Dr. Matawalle and military chiefs to transfer to Sokoto State, was credited by Katsina in a statement on Monday for the accomplishments.
“This action demonstrates the administration’s dedication to guaranteeing the security and safety of people throughout the region,” Katsina stated.
Significant military triumphs have been achieved under Matawalle’s command, including the abolition of important bandit leaders like Alhaji Halilu. Communities that have suffered from years of conflict now have hope again because to these achievements.

When Matawalle visited Sokoto State recently, he gave orders for troops to apprehend Bello Turji, the infamous bandit leader, whether he was alive or not. In addition to encouraging locals who are hopeful that Turji would soon be apprehended, this order has raised security forces’ spirits.
President Tinubu’s resolute stance to tackling insecurity was also commended by the organization. They emphasized how the administration’s decision to send Matawalle to the area shows its commitment to protecting people and property.
Katsina acknowledged the Nigerian Air Force’s and other security services’ efforts and commended their dedication and professionalism, highlighting their crucial role in the recent victories over banditry.
The region’s residents are still optimistic that ongoing military actions would result in the total elimination of banditry and the establishment of enduring peace.
