The Nigerian Air Force has been urged by Minister of Defense Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to deploy all of its platforms more effectively in order to combat terrorism and banditry.
The Minister made this statement on Monday, November 18, 2024, while on an operational visit to the Air Component Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Katsina state, according to Barr. Henshaw Ogubike, Director, Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Defense.
The honorable minister expressed gratitude to the valiant airmen who have persisted in inspiring Nigerians with their courage, resiliency, and optimism.
Additionally, the Minister stated that their efforts are paying off, as Nigerians can now sleep in peace, schools are reopening, businesses are expanding, and farmers are gradually returning to their farms.
The Minister claims that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president and commander in chief of the armed forces, has expressed faith in their steadfast devotion, tenacity, and professionalism. He understands the daily personal sacrifices you make to maintain the unity of our nation.

It is important to note that the President has upgraded the Nigerian Air Force’s offensive capabilities by supplying them with cutting-edge aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles. The T129 Attack Helicopter is one of the new platforms that will be introduced, and “I am confident we will make Mr President and Nigerians proud.”
As a result, Badaru stated, “It is no accident that I am here today to commence this crucial stage of the operations. For this reason, I implore you to coordinate with the ground forces and other stakeholders to guarantee the greatest possible impact from these combat enablers.”
“As part of his operational visit, the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON mni, visited Sokoto to assess the platforms’ combat readiness and to tour the new location where the permanent base of the newly formed Air Force component of military operations against terrorism and banditry will be built at Sokoto Airport.
During his speech, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, the head of the Air Staff, praised the Minister’s servant leadership style, saying it is an encouragement to everyone. According to him, the T129 Attack Helicopters will change our ability to operate against those who believe they can cause instability in our country.
