Bello, the oldest son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has denied reports that members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, discovered cash in various currencies during a raid on his Kaduna home.
Rumor had it that the EFCC had found N1 trillion worth of drugs, N700 billion in cash, and $800 million in his Kaduna home.
Bello said in a statement on Wednesday that the accusations were “false” and an attempt to divert his attention from his public work.
He clarified that their family home is in Unguwar Sarki and refuted that he does not own a home in Kaduna.

According to Bello’s comments, “My constituents, whom I represent, are aware of the consequences that would ensue if I were endowed with such figures.”
