The governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has ordered the entire renovation of a few elementary and secondary schools in the mining communities of Agaza and Ego in the state’s Kokona Local Government Areas.

As part of its community development programs in the impacted communities, Black Gem New Energy firm Limited, a local mining firm, is carrying out the project.

Renovating, fencing, and building classroom blocks at elementary and high schools in the Agaza and Ego communities are all part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

If the schools’ construction is finished, Gov. Sule stated, the quality of education in the region will rise.

The governor praised the mining business for the admirable initiative, represented by John D.W. Mamman, Commissioner for Education.

The villages that benefited from the schools were urged by Sule to use them to send their children to receive a western education.

The governor reiterated the administration’s ongoing plan to focus on various initiatives and policies that directly affect the education sector.

In the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Daniel Ogah Ogazi, the Member Representing Kokona East Constituency, praised Governor Sule for drawing in investors to the state through mining operations.
