The market value of Ademola Lookman, a winger for the Super Eagles, has increased significantly, and it is currently assessed at €55 million.
With the €15 million boost, Ademola Lookman is now Nigeria’s second most valuable player, after only Victor Osimhen at €75 million, and ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, who is valued at €45 million.
Lookman defeated strong competitors like Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy to win the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award, which is a testimonial to his exceptional play. In the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, Lookman was also rated 14th.
Due to his success in the last two seasons, the 27-year-old winger has solidified his place among Nigeria’s best football players. He was worth €30 million at the end of 2023, but he had an incredible year with a market value gain of €25 million, or 83.33%.
He was valued at €40 million by June 2024, following a great performance in the UEFA Europa League final, where he scored a hat-trick to help Atalanta defeat Leverkusen 3-0 and win the club’s first European championship.
Lookman finished his stellar 2024 with the African Ballon d’Or, and rightfully so, according to Jatin Dietl, Area Manager for Italy at Transfermarkt. He has been in outstanding form, helping Atalanta win its first international championship and contributing significantly to the team’s triumph.

Prior to this peak, Lookman was coveted by big European teams like PSG, Arsenal, and Liverpool, who said they wanted to buy him last summer. Atalanta may find it difficult to hold onto his skills as the season goes on, though.
“Our plan is not to change anything in the January window,” Atalanta President Antonio Percassi said in reference to the forward’s future, citing the club’s intention to retain Lookman during the January transfer window despite the increasing interest.
