The loss of Ahmed Bunkure, who passed away just twenty-four hours after the governor appointed him, has left Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf in grief.

Governor Yusuf appointed Bunkure as his Special Adviser on Works on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Bunkure sadly passed away on Wednesday, January 8.

Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokeswoman, informed him of his passing on Wednesday.

The governor’s recently hired aide passed away in Egypt on Wednesday, January 8, according to a statement from DawakinTofa.

In his prayer for Bunkure’s soul’s rest, Governor Yusuf described his passing as devastating and an irreplaceable loss to the state, his family, and the larger political community.

Additionally, he prayed to Allah for forgiveness of the deceased and for the fortitude to deal with the loss for his loved ones.

“As a government, we are experiencing a heartbreaking moment,” Governor Yusuf stated. It was anticipated that Bunkure’s contributions and experience would propel our administration’s development strategy. In the statement, the governor expressed how much his loss was felt.
