In recognition of his remarkable achievements in engineering, scholarship, and public service, Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Kwara State, awarded LUBCON founder and chairman Alhaji Jani Ibrahim an honorary doctorate degree (PhD).
The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has Jani Ibrahim as its first deputy president.
It happened during the institution’s 20th Convocation event, where Professor Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, was giving an anniversary lecture.
Additionally, the National Institute’s Alumni Association praised him for his lasting legacy of service.
The National Executive Committee and all of the association’s members congratulated Alhaji Jani, a former president and exceptional entrepreneur, in a message signed by Brigadier General SK Usman, the publicity secretary, and delivered by Ambassador E O Okafor, president of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI).
“This well-earned recognition bears eloquent testimony to your exceptional contributions to national development, your dedication to quality and leadership, and your commitment to uplifting society through engineering, public service, and impactful mentoring,” the statement adds.
“Your accomplishments continue to inspire and set a remarkable example for others to follow, making you a respected leader both within and outside of AANI.” This esteemed award from Al-Hikmah University Ilorin further demonstrates your accomplishments in a variety of endeavors and your lasting legacy of service to humanity.
“Therefore, AANI wishes you continued success, good health, and the ability to contribute more to our country and humanity as we celebrate this milestone with you, your family, and your well-wishers.”
The vice chancellor of the rapidly expanding Islamic University, Professor Noah Yusuf, praised Jani Ibrahim’s achievements in business and public service and said that the institution should honor exceptional men and women with integrity.
In his speech, Borno State Governor Zulum urged religious organizations to generate graduates who are morally and spiritually educated in order to assist Nigeria in overcoming its present social evils and moral decay.
“Two Decades of Excellence: Al-Hikmah University’s Impact on Scholarship and Educational Development in Nigeria” was the theme of Governor Zulum’s 20th anniversary address, which encouraged Nigerian youngsters to embrace hard work and humility.
Recalling his childhood as the son of a peasant farmer and a commercial driver who worked on the Maiduguri-Okene-Ibadan roads, Zulum counseled the young people to value their parents, make sacrifices for the betterment of society, and love hard labor.
He asserts that taking quick paths to success frequently results in regret and catastrophe. “Hard work is good, but humility gets you far in life,” he remarked.
“Being humble is the best quality; working hard is just one.” After earning my master’s degree, my parents and I moved back to my village to farm. He stated, “I could have stayed in Maiduguri wearing babanriga, but I had to obey my parents, which is why I am who I am now.
Speaking as well, Dr. Abdulraheem Oladimeji, the founder of Al-Hikmah University, was hailed by former Katsina State governor Alhaji Aminu Masari as a significant contributor to high-quality education in Nigeria.
The two-term former Katsina State governor claimed that Oladimeji’s initiatives to make education a top priority in Nigeria had a significant influence on young people’s lives.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Noah Yusuf lamented that the university’s most urgent problem is insufficient money in his speech at the 20th anniversary dinner/award night.
The VC added that the inability to satisfy some of the university’s most pressing demands is a knock-on effect of the finance dilemma.
He thus pleaded with the university’s friends for help in establishing dorms, faculty buildings, and classrooms and offices that would be jointly constructed and named after the contributors.
Among the several issues the university faces, he continued, are research funding for academic personnel and scholarship funds for underprivileged students.
