On Thursday morning, Major General Chris Jemitola (rtd), a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, collapsed at the IBB Golf Club and died.
He was brought to the hospital right away, but upon arrival, the hospital declared him dead, according to family sources who spoke to The Whistler.
In his capacity as colonel, Jemitola was Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007.

He became the Director of Defense Information during his illustrious military career before serving as Nigeria’s Defense Attaché in Brazil.
Before leaving active duty, he served as the Nigerian Army’s Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) until 2014, when he was promoted to Major General.

In 2019, Jemitola entered the commercial sector after retiring, serving as Senior Advisor for Military Communications at Pinnacle Communications Limited.

His family has not yet released a formal announcement on his passing.
