A 15-year timeframe for immigrants to be eligible for a British passport has been suggested by Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the UK Conservative Party.
According to reports, the British-Nigerian congressman made this statement as part of his party’s immigration agenda.
According to Badenoch, Britain is still a house and not a hotel. She said the approach will help safeguard Britain and maintain its economy.
“We are from Britain,” she said. This isn’t a hotel. With regard to immigration, it’s time to be honest and offer practical solutions. Reducing immigration and giving life here a purpose are my goals. Changes must be made to our immigration system. Consequently, I am declaring that the Conservative Party will be doing the following things in a different way. One, the period of time you must reside in our nation before applying for indefinite leave to remain will be extended from five to ten years if you wish to stay here permanently. The second need is that you have a sufficient income and be a net contributor, particularly if you wish to bring family members along.
“And you’re prohibited if you have a criminal history. 3. You are not even allowed to apply if you have already received benefits or require social housing.

The fourth change is that the 12-month period before applying for a British passport will now be five years, which means it will take at least 15 years to begin the application process.
The fifth is that you will never be allowed to obtain a passport or leave to remain in this country if you enter it unlawfully or stay longer than allowed.
These adjustments, when combined with a rigorous cap on the number of immigrants, will be the most significant ones ever made to our immigration system. A system of immigration that eventually benefits the British people, fewer people, and safe borders. We are taking this move as part of our strategy to manage our immigration system. If you concur, come work with us and let’s finish it.
