Omoyele Sowore, the former African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, has confronted members of the Nigeria Police Force and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for preventing him from entering the Federal High Court’s grounds.
Sowore said in a video posted on X on Monday that uniformed security personnel, such as the police, civil defense, and Department of State Security (DSS) Services, had taken over the Nigerian legal system.
He is not former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who is currently facing charges of financial misappropriation from the commission, Sowore cautioned, despite every officer’s attempt to stop him.
By bringing a “thief,” Yahaya Bello, to the court, he said, the security guards had unlawfully taken over the court’s grounds.

Furthermore, he chastised the government for not apprehending Bello when he was declared sought and for only being able to hold him after the former governor came to the Abuja office of the EFCC.
Sowore replied on the video, “Why are you yelling at me? Am I similar to Yahaya Bello? I have to go to court for business. I don’t require clearance from the EFCC or the police because none of you are a court officer.
Please bring a court officer, and I will speak with them as this is a Federal High Court. Even after I was taken to court by the EFCC, they continue to harass us. You are not authorized to appear before the supreme court. Since you’re not my attorney, you have no business knowing my case.
