Doyin Okupe, the former presidential spokesperson and former director-general of Peter Obi’s Presidential Campaign Organization, passed away, leading to a range of responses.
According to information obtained by Naija News, Okupe died at the age of 72 after a protracted battle with colon cancer.
It had been reported that the former presidential adviser was in critical condition in the weeks before his death.
Additionally, Okupe’s supporters and family were apparently concerned about his health, which had reportedly declined considerably.
Although Okupe was airlifted to Israel for treatment after being hospitalized in October 2023 for prostate cancer, his condition did not improve as he and his family had hoped. Nigerians on social media, however, have responded to Doyin Okupe’s passing in varied ways.
