Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has asserted that numerous individuals who opposed Siminalayi Fubara’s appointment as Rivers State Governor are now swarming around him and stealing his money.
In an interview with reporters in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike reportedly said that the Ijaw people in Rivers State did not value his thoughtful gesture.
Because Fubara comes from Opobo, the “original” Ijaw people, including the Kalabaris, rebelled against him, according to Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers State.
Those who opposed Fubara’s selection said that the Opobo people were not considered true Ijaw people, but the Minister said he permitted it out of kindness.

“Out of our own kindness, we permitted it,” he stated. We are working as a team, I said to the lads.
When someone does anything to unite everyone, you are grateful. In fact, they told me that if I wanted to give this governor to the Ijaws instead of the Opobo, it should go to the Kalabaris when I purchased it. You see the issue?
However, you accomplished it by closing your eyes. We cannot allow this, so everyone who opposed me and shouted, “no,” now parades about him, hangs around him, and steals his money.
