Popular musician Habeb Okikiola Badmus, also known as “portable,” was detained by the Kwara State police command on suspicion of criminal defamation and other connected offenses, according to reports.
On Saturday, command personnel made the arrest in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following a request from a man named Okunola Saheed, also referred to as “Osupa.”
The command spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, made this announcement in the state capital of Ilorin on Sunday.
“The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that following a petition received from one Mr. Okunola Saheed, popularly known as ‘Osupa,’ against Mr. Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, also known in the entertainment industry as ‘Portable,'” the statement said in part.
“To look into the claims, Kwara Command police investigators have followed the law and due procedure.
“Criminal defamation, threat of death, provocation, character assassination, behavior likely to provoke a breach of peace, and the use of abusive and insulting remarks are among the major claims that the petition touches on.

Given the seriousness of these accusations and the evidence that was provided, the Command was able to obtain a legitimate arrest order from an Ilorin Magistrate Court.
On Saturday, April 13, 2025, in accordance with this warrant, Command agents went to Abeokuta, Ogun State, and at around 19:25 hours, the suspect was taken into custody. He was taken to Ilorin right away for additional examination.
“When the suspect arrived, his statement was obtained in front of both sides’ attorneys. Arrangements are being made to charge him in court right now, and he is currently in custody.
The public was urged to maintain composure and prevent from disseminating unconfirmed information by the state police command, which reiterated its dedication to maintaining the rule of law and making sure that justice is administered in a fair and transparent manner.
