To protest and call for Siminalayi Fubara’s reinstatement, hundreds of supporters of the suspended governor of Rivers State have taken to the streets of Port Harcourt.
It was discovered that on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the demonstrators began their march from Aggrey Road in Old Port Harcourt Township.
Punch reports that the black-clad protesters held placards that read, among other things, “Together we stand for Governor Sim Fubara,” “We want back our Governor, we all voted for,” and “Governor Fubara is the pride of Rivers People.”
Since President Bola Tinubu proclaimed a State of Emergency in Rivers State on March 18 and suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and members of the state’s House of Assembly, the state has been racked by a string of anti- and pro-protests, the most recent of which is this one.
