Because of his tribal remarks during the 17th Headies Awards presentation, reality star Whitemoney has come under fire from Nigerian media personality Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, often known as Do2dtun.
In his acceptance speech, Whitemoney claimed to be on stage on behalf of the Igbos while accepting the Afrobeats Single Of The Year award on behalf of musician Flavour at the ceremony on Sunday at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.
The statement, however, angered several viewers, who charged him with tribalism for limiting Flavour’s following to Igbo people.
Using his 𝕏 name, Do2dtun responded by criticizing Whitemoney for introducing tribal emotions into the award event and emphasizing that Flavour’s win was for all Afrobeats fans.
Written by him, “‘On behalf of the Igbos.'” I apologize; that wasn’t necessary at all. That kind of narrative wasn’t necessary. This award was given to a Nigerian and an African for Afrobeat. #Headies2025 “
Do2dtun recently offered insight into the conflict between street pop artist Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, and his senior coworker Akorede Babatunde Okunola, better known by his stage name Saheed Osupa.

The legendary Fuji musician was reportedly made fun of by Portable for removing his song from streaming services due to copyright violations.
After Osupa and his distributors complained, Portable removed the song from Spotify and Apple Music for using a lyric from his song.
In an online video that went viral, Portable expressed his ire at Osupa’s behavior and attacked the senior colleague for covering his tune.
Osupa is big for nothing, the “Zazu Zeh” crooner stated, and he was chastised for not pursuing his career.
In a post via 𝕏, Do2dtun responded to the outburst by stating that Saheed Osupa will beat Portable from bus stop to bus stop over the insult.
