Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, thinks that the team’s victory in the Conference League might be a major step in proving that they are “back” to their competitive best.
Chelsea’s performance against Swedish club Djurgarden in the first leg of the semi-final gave them a dominating 4-1 lead, and they are confident they will advance to the final.
On May 28, the final will be held in Wroclaw, Poland. Either Real Betis or Fiorentina might be Chelsea’s rivals.
“Yes, for me, winning a trophy like the Conference League is a clear indicator that Chelsea is back,” Maresca said in response to a query about whether winning a title in UEFA’s third-tier tournament would be a turning point for Chelsea.
The Conference League is a new beginning for the team, he said, underscoring the significance of winning a trophy.
The reason elite teams like Real Madrid aren’t playing in the Conference League, he continued, is because their experience levels are different. Our involvement shows where we are right now, and it is time to begin expanding on this.
“Winning the Conference League would further enhance the club’s legacy by making Chelsea the first club in Europe to claim victory in all major European competitions,” Maresca said.

He conveyed his belief that the club will be able to approach the semifinal and championship game with a winning mindset.
Although Chelsea’s team is worth 44 times more than Djurgarden’s, according to Transfermarkt, the goal is still to focus on the current assignment.
