Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor of House on the Rock Church, has shown up at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja following the release of a widely shared video purportedly depicting him brandishing a gun during a confrontation with a motorist in Lagos.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Command, verified the development to our correspondent via a WhatsApp message.
The video, which went viral last week, showed Pastor Adefarasin talking to a bystander who was filming the incident while carrying a metallic object.
Many people on social media speculated that the clergyman was brandishing a gun after seeing the video. 34
Addressing his church and providing clarification, Pastor Adefarasin posted a message on his official social media accounts.

He insisted that the device in question was not a weapon and emphasized that he did not threaten or aim it at anyone, characterizing the public’s perception of the footage as a misunderstanding.
“No one is above the law,” CSP Hundeyin said, confirming his presence at the Command. Detectives are currently questioning Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Investigations into the event have begun, he noted, especially in view of the footage that shows the pastor driving an unlicensed vehicle while holding what looks to be a gun-like object.
“The investigation’s findings will be released to the public,” Hundeyin declared.
