Aliyu Zubairu, the head coach of the Nigerian Flying Eagles, has stated that the CAF WAFU B U-20 Boys’ Cup Under-20 men’s team has returned to camp in Abuja.
In order to promote young football players throughout West Africa and encourage regional cooperation, the CAF WAFU B U-20 Boys’ Cup will begin on July 10 and run through July 23, 2025, in Accra, Ghana. Thirteen countries from WAFU Zones A and B will compete.
Originally planned for earlier in the year, the competition was moved to July. The Flying Eagles had already begun camping in Abuja for it prior to the postponement. However, while the crew awaited the notification of a new date, the camping was interrupted.

Coach Zubairu reportedly invited a number of fresh players in addition to the players who helped the Flying Eagles earn a spot in the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.
The Flying Eagles, the host nation, Ghana, and the Benin Republic will all compete in Group A in the WAFU B U-20 Boys’ Cup. Niger, Togo, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso make up Group B.

Each group’s top two teams will go automatically to the competition’s semifinals.

Nigeria will play the hosts on Thursday, July 10 to begin the competition, and then on July 13, they will play Benin Republic.

Coach Zubairu will use this competition to get the team ready for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, which is set to begin on September 27 and go through October 19, 2025.

Nigeria, Colombia, Norway, and Saudi Arabia are all in Group F of the international competition.
