Umaru Bago, the governor of Niger State, has announced his intention to serve as the director general of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign for the 2027 reelection of President Bola Tinubu.
Bago reportedly made the announcement Tuesday while giving a speech in the state capital of Minna.
Additionally, the governor declared that Tinubu’s campaign headquarters would be in the state.
Bago insisted that the North and South have an unwritten agreement on the power-sharing formula, while also taking a jab at those pushing for a northern candidate in the run-up to the 2027 election.
“Asiwaju 2027 is the campaign headquarters in Niger State, and I am now the self-imposed Director General of the Tinubu campaign for 2027,” he stated.
“We adore Nigeria because we are Nigerians. In Nigeria, there is an unspoken agreement that the North and the South will alternate control. This has resulted in peace in this nation.

“We finished former President Muhammadu Buhari’s term, and Asiwaju is only two years into his term.”
Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, asserts that his friendship with President Tinubu is unaffected by political ties and has lasted for more than 20 years.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Soludo said that Tinubu is in “robust health and high spirits” and that their conversation was “quite pleasant” following a private meeting with the president at the State House.
“I have no regrets about it,” Soludo added. I’m friends with President Tinubu. Don’t reject your friend; he has been my friend for twenty-two years and counting.
“I agree with him and find his audacious actions admirable, especially those pertaining to fundamental reforms and the economy. We must continue on our current path because we are making the correct decisions.
According to the governor of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he supports Tinubu because he believes that progressive parties should work together.
