Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Enugu State, have declared total support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This formed part of their communique after a one-day meeting held in Enugu on Tuesday.
DAILY POST reports that the stakeholders also expressed their readiness to welcome Governor Peter Mbah into the party.
The communique was signed by a former Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, Barrister Eugene Odoh, (For Enugu North senatorial Zone); immediate past state chairman of the party, Dr. Ben Nwoye (For Enugu East Senatorial zone); Dr. El Ajah (Enugu West Senatorial zone); Hon. Dr. Oby Ajih (For APC National Assembly Candidates); Hon. Barr. Godwin Onwusi (For 2023 APC House of Assembly Candidates) and Dr. Alphonsus Nwafor, Acting State Chairman, (For State Exco).
The stakeholders hailed Tinubu for “transformative leadership” and endorsed him for a second tenure come 2027.
According to the communique, “the ADC coalition is an embodiment of president Tinubu serial election losers that have no policy direction for the advancement of Nigeria.
“We reaffirm that Ugochukwu Agbala is not the State Chairman of APC Enugu state.
“We will notify the National Working Committee through the APC National Chairman that Barr Agbal has been removed by a court Order of a competent jurisdiction.
“Consequently, we will put the NWC on notice to the effect of Barr Agballa’s continued participation at the meetings of the National Executive Committee. Any resolution passed at such meetings attended by Barr Agbala is subject to litigation and voidable.”
They also said they would commence a probe into the educational certificate presented by Chief Uchenna Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation Science and Technology.
“The APC Enugu State Stakeholders will set up a Committee to write to the University of Nigeria Vice Chancellor and make further inquiries about the authenticity of the graduation certificate and NYSC certificate being paraded by Chief Nnaji,” the stakeholders said.
Further in the communique, they said “the purported claim that Chief Nnaji won Enugu East Senatorial District election in1999 is not true.
“He was a placeholder for H.E.Sen Jim Nwobodo and was adequately compensated with a membership of Board of FCT
“That we the Enugu State APC Stakeholders are apologizing to the people of Enugu State for the embarrassment Chief Nnaji caused during the recently concluded Enugu South bye-election.
“Chief Nnaji could not win his own election in 2023 and did not support the party’s candidate in Enugu South Constituency 1 election.
“The bye-election was basically between Labour party and PDP as APC could not win even if they allocated the entire votes.
“That the stakeholders are happy welcoming the governor to the party so that Enugu State can take her place in the national politics.”
