A senior officer, SP Musa Amadu, has been rescued by the Sokoto State Police after being abducted by suspected kidnappers.
The incident was shared in a post on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Friday.
According to Makama, the officer’s family alerted the police on August 27 after he failed to return home and remained unreachable by phone.
The incident was confirmed as a kidnapping on August 28 after the victim’s brother received a ransom demand call from the abductors.
The command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit quickly took over the investigation and tracked the officer’s location using technical intelligence.
The sources told Makama that the officer was located and rescued around 5:40 p.m. on August 28 in a remote area near the back gate of Usman Danfodio University on Illela Road.
“SP Musa Amadu was weak and disoriented when rescued and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and observation,”
“Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case,” Makama added.
