Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has been questioned over his decision to give the 10th penalty to Benjamin Sesko during their Carabao Cup second-round clash against Grimsby Town.
The manager’s decision was questioned by former Chelsea player, Don Hutchinson, who felt it was part of the reason they were beaten by the League Two side.
The pundit even wondered if it was the manager that made such a call.
He told ESPN that as a number 9 at Manchester United, one would have thought that the new striker would be bold enough to put himself forward for the first shot.
According to him, scoring the first kick would have helped build his confidence even if it was just a penalty shootout.
“But he didn’t even put his hand up till number 10,” he said.
“So, is this on Amorim by not picking him or did Amorim look at the players in the eyes and think, ‘Right, who fancies it?’ Because normally that’s a giveaway.”
