This is coming ahead of both sides’ Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday.

Arsenal, in a statement via their website on Friday confirmed that Kabia has joined League Two side Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old joined Arsenal’s academy in March 2017 and recently signed his second professional contract with the Gunners.

Kabia, a versatile winger, featured as an unused substitute 13 times in the Premier League and Champions League for Mikel Arteta’s side last season.

He eventually made his first-team debut in Arsenal’s 5-1 win against Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup third round at Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool, meanwhile, confirmed in a statement that McConnell has joined Ajax on loan for the remainder of the 2025-26 season after signing a new long-term contract with the Reds.

The 20-year-old will gain senior experience under former Liverpool coach John Heitinga, now in charge of Ajax.

McConnell joined Liverpool at U15 level from Sunderland.

The midfielder progressed through the club’s Academy system and has appeared 13 times for the senior team to date.
