Jigawa State Government has repaired the failed section of the Bagadaza Bridge along the Gwaram–Basirka Road, a major link between the North-West and North-East regions.
The Jigawa State Roads Maintenance Agency (JIRMA), announced the development in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Sunday.
Earlier, DAILY POST reported that the Jigawa State Police Command had warned motorists to exercise caution following the collapse of the bridge due to heavy rainfall.
Security personnel were deployed to guide travellers on alternative routes.
According to JIRMA, the road has now been reopened to ensure the free flow of traffic.
Residents and commuters in the area have commended the state government for its swift response and timely intervention, noting that the repair work had helped avert further hardship and potential danger to road users.
